Day 7
I decided to go with Day 6 since I'd missed everything. All went well until I got to work and discovered that I'd left my mid-morning snack in the refrigerator. But...stayed the course with the rest of the day.

Day 6
This day was all screwed up. Couldn't take my shake to church, of course, so no breakfast. By the time I got home, there was no mid-morning snack. Then friends came over so no afternoon snack and then it was dinnertime. So, I just made myself a pork chop like from the night before with the same sidedish.

Day 5
First thing I did this morning after hitting the bathroom was? Yep, I found the scales to see what kind of damage I'd done by scarfing down that pizza. Results? I'd gained 1 lb.! Could have been worse, but today is another day.
Today was the first morning of no shakes for breakfast. This breakfast consisted of quinoa which is hard to describe, but not bad to eat. It's kinda like big brown grits or a cousin to couscous. Both of which I like. It's boiled with water and then milk is added to thicken it and then flavoring and honey is stirred in. Very filling.
Exercise is supposed to be a part of all of this, but the best I seem to do at this time is the walking primarily done at the office. The main reason no exercise other than that is not taking place is that my left knee continues to bother me because of the arthritis and the cold and the fact that I am fat and put too much pressure on it. This in turn is now triggering problems with my right knee. Hence the number one reason for losing weight. I want pressure off of my knees! I'm quite sure it's only a placebo effect in my mind, but my knees felt so much better yesterday and thus far today.

Day 4
Today was my first weigh in day. And the results are (drum roll please)...
I'm getting more organized with the preparation as time goes on. I'm finding that mixing up the shakes and fixing my snacks the night before helps a lot. Less stress and hurry in the morning - I feel better prepared.
New shakes today. One was made with a tangerine. It tasted great, but I won't be doing that one again. Even though I'd tried taking most of the skin off while taking out the seeds, there still was too much pulp. I was constantly picking skin out of my mouth and throwing it away. Not good.
The other new shake was made with a peeled apple and cinnamon added as a flavoring. This is one that I will look forward to drinking again in the near future.
The afternoon snack was passable. It was a dip which consisted of greek yogurt and seasonings in which I could dip some raw cauliflower. Love the cauliflower, not crazy about the dip. I will have to find a substitute or change for that one in the future.
I was invited over to dinner at a friend's home last night. I told them that I would be bringing my own dinner. All was going fine until I was offered a bite of the homemade chicken Alfredo pizza that had been made for their dinner. I crumbled and took a sample bite. It was so good! But, I ate my soup to the last drop.
However, when I got home a few hours later and was sitting at my computer I kept thinking, then obsessing about the chicken, bacon, onion pizza sitting in my freezerator. I could finally stand it no longer and went to the kitchen and popped it in the oven. When baked, I ate all of it (leaving only a few pieces of crust)! Then I felt so bad because I had caved in!
NOTE TO SELF...Make sure all freezer goodies are gone from the freezerator when starting another round of dieting. Better still - don't buy and put them up there. I'm not worrying about the items in the chest freezer outside that may be lurking out there. It's way too cold and/or dark to go out and start pillaging out there.
Am I off the diet? Nope, just climbing back on that horse and continuing on. It'll be better now cause there's no more pizza left to cheat with.
I LOST 6 LBS.!!!
i just couldn't believe my eyes so I stepped back on the scales just to make sure and it showed exactly the same thing. So I now weigh 278 lbs. Still a long way to go, but at least my efforts have been worth it thus far.I'm getting more organized with the preparation as time goes on. Day 3
Another day of dieting completed. Things have been so very, very busy at the office that this new way of dieting seems to be just right for the moment. It takes me forever to finish my breakfast shake so I'm eating my snack somewhere around lunch time. Then lunch time comes in early afternoon which means that by the time I eat dinner I'm quite sufficed for the day. I've been experiencing no hunger pangs and no desire for anything right special right now.
Breakfast: Frozen berry shake with almond powder. Won't be doing this one again. The book warned me about this one since there are the blackberry seeds. They are very annoying so frozen berries are out of the picture for me.
Snack: Dip made from diced grape tomatoes mixed with cream cheese and seasoning. I had celery to dip into it and this was a healthy snack that I will be trying again in the future.
Lunch: Another shake of banana and peanut butter. One of the better shakes.
Dinner: A repeat of the shrimp soup. Still tasted great!

Day 2
Food today consisted of:
I even turned down a dinner invitation with friends last night simply because I'd just started my 21 days of diet. I've got to be strong!
Today I did manage NOT to eat any of the candy that we always have at the office too. No chocolate for me.
- Breakfast Shake - orange with flax seed meal. This one tastes pretty good.
- Snack - Mozarella stick wrapped in two Romaine leaves. Not bad.
- Lunch Shake - banana with peanut butter. This one is one I'll enjoy drinking again.
- Dinner - the shrimp soup I had made already and ate last night. This is good soup.

Day 1
Here are the starting and startling facts:
Weight: 285 lbs. - How did I get to this number?! I don't feel this big, but numbers don't lie. I've got to lose weight. Nothing seems to be fitting anymore or at least not fitting comfortably.
Waist: 51 inches
Hips: 59 inches
Abdomen: 53 inches
Next weigh-in: Day 4
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I spent the day doing food preparation for the coming week and making sure that I have everything needed according to TDD (The Digest Diet).
The first four days part of this diet is called "Fast Release". This is supposed to be a fat releasing jump start. During it, I should shed fat quickly and safely. The phase is about flooding my body with nutrition with a diet rich in soups and shakes.
Breakfast for the next four days will consist of a "Fast Release Shake" (FRS). It consists of a "Master Recipe" placed in a blender. Those ingredients are: non-fat yogurt, light coconut milk, nonfat milk powder, honey, vanilla extract, and ice cubes. Each time you make the shake you add some type of fruit or fiber, a healthy fat and flavorings.
This morning I had a shake with a banana and cocoa powder and peanut butter added to the Master Recipe (MR). It didn't taste too bad.
Mid-morning snack was "Ricotta Boats". This was a bell pepper cut into quarters, seeded and them topped with fat free ricotta cheese sprinkled with ground black pepper. I will admit, not a great snack, but I managed to eat the entire pepper. The snacks are designed to contain Vitamin C, fiber for crunch and satisfaction, and protein.
Lunch will also consist of a FRS for the next five days. Mine today was the MR to which I added strawberries, flax seed mill and almond butter. This was nasty! Don't think I'll be trying that combination again anytime soon.
Soup will be my dinner for the next four days. I spent the morning making the "Italian Shrimp & Vegetable Soup" from the . This soup is unbelievably fantastic and tasty!!!
No more snacking after dinner or midnight snacks! But, if I...
